CHARACTERISTICS
BioBase is a multipurpose biodegradator and biostarter. This mixture of spores and viable cysts of facultative microorganisms has very high enzymatic activities (amylase, lipase, cellulase, protease) and a very high duplication rate in an aqueous environment. It is suitable for all applications requiring strong enzyme-degrading activity of organic substances, including lipids.
Applications
BioBase is particularly recommended for:
- BOD and COD abatement in sewage treatment plants activated sludge or attached biomass.
- Fat degradation animals and plants.
- Start-up of composting processes.
- Initial (microaerobic) stage of the biogas production processes.

Doses and directions for use
Reduction of BOD and COD
- Mode: Administer BioBase directly in the equalisation or oxidation tank, or at the inlet of the plant.
- Optimal ConditionspH 7.5-8, minimum oxygenation 3 ppm dissolved O2, no toxic substances.
- Dosage30 ml BioBase per kg BOD to be removed or 60 ml per kg COD with a COD/BOD ratio of about 1. Increase the dosage in case of a COD/BOD ratio > 1.
Mud stabilisation
- Mode: Feed BioBase directly into the stabilisation tank.
- Dosage100 ml per cubic metre of sludge. Ensure high oxygenation and agitation.
Start-up of Composting Processes
- Mode: Dilute BioBase in water (1/10) and distribute over the incoming fresh material.
- Dosage10 ml BioBase (or 100 ml solution) per cubic metre of product to be composted.
Biogas Production Process Start-up
ModeUse BioBase to formulate microbial preparations for starting residual oxygen elimination processes. It can be used directly (~0.1 per mille) on masses sent for anaerobic treatment.
CAUTION: Shake before use.
Conservation and Storage
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, avoiding sources of radiation, frost, moisture.
- Stability: The product in unopened packaging and properly stored is stable for 6 months from the date indicated on the packaging.
Warnings
The product is non-toxic to humans, plants, fish and pets. However, due to the high concentration, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided. Do not ingest and keep out of reach of children.
